Gianasita Sugiana is a trainee immigration consultant at Expat Management Group Benelux. She holds a Master’s degree in International and European law from Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She is a first-generation university graduate who aims for perfection in everything she does.

As an Indonesian herself, born and raised in Belgium, she is well-acquainted with the close-knit and fast-moving society in which we live in. She participated in an Erasmus exchange at the University of Malta during her studies, where she was exposed to many different cultures and people of various nationalities.

Gianasita developed her interest in immigration law from her own experience as an immigrant and she believes she can better serve the immigrant community because of her background. She has prior legal experience as a summer intern at the Raad voor Vreemdelingenbetwistingen, where she dealt with appeals against individual rulings on asylum and international protection.

Joining the Belgium and Luxembourg team in January 2021, she’s expected to conduct legal research on European, Belgian and Luxembourg immigration regulations, assist with case work, write legal advice, support the Immigration and Relocation team and much more.

In her free time, she likes to travel around the world, hike in nature where she can escape from the buzz, capture moments on her camera, and read one of Khaled Hosseini’s books.
