Here’s some helpful FAQ’s

I have been offered a job, but my employer is not helping with the immigration process. Can Expat Management Group help?

The application for a residence permit with work authorization must be sponsored by an employer in Benelux or Germany. Together, we are happy to look into what process needs to be started, and your future employer can always contact us directly.

My employment contract will not be extended. What are my options to stay in the Netherlands?

If you are working in Benelux or Germany as a Highly Skilled Migrant, the easiest option to stay there is to find a new job as a Highly Skilled Migrant. If your residence document is still valid then you are entitled to a search period of a maximum 3 months after your end of employment. Depending on your situation, it may also be possible to change your residence status to, for example, a dependent permit, a search year, or permanent residence. Please contact us for more information.

I would like to start an immigration process for my family members, can Expat Management Group help with this?

Certainly, we can provide support for the immigration procedures concerning your family members. Note that only the primary family members (registered partner/spouse and/or minor children), qualify for a dependent permit. Feel free to reach out to us for a cost estimate, and our experienced consultants will ensure a smooth and stress-free process for you and your family.

Should the gross monthly salary of our Highly Skilled Migrants be adjusted every year when the new salary threshold is announced?

The salary standards for Highly Skilled Migrants are indexed annually. To be eligible for, and keep, a permit as a Highly Skilled Migrant, it is important to meet the salary standard every month. Employers who want to obtain or extend work authorization on or after January 1st of the next year must increase the salary to comply with the new threshold. Immigration applications that do not meet the minimum salary requirement will be rejected. Employers with pending applications as of January 1st of the next year must increase their salary to comply with the new threshold and must inform the regional authorities. If there are any doubts about which salary standard applies, please feel free to contact us.
